Tips for Choosing the PERFECT Sofa...

BEFORE YOU SHOP

1.  Research Your Style:

Look at blogs, websites, Pinterest, Houzz, Apartment Therapy, etc. to get a feel of what is out there and what you want.

2.  Measure Your Space:

This includes doorways, hallways, and entryways that the sofa will have to pass through to make it to the final destination.

3.  Know Your Color Palette:

Gather any paint samples, existing fabric swatches, flooring samples that are already in the room so you can bring them into the store to match.

4.  Set a Budget:

Decide on a number you would like to stick to when purchasing your new sofa.  This will help you narrow down your selection to pieces that are realistic for you.

AT THE STORE

1.  View Your Options:

Take your time and walk around the store to see what is available now and what needs to be ordered. Try to keep and open mind because the a sofa you like in leather might also be available in fabric.

2.  Sit Down & Relax:

Try out the sofa!  Sit and/or lay how you would at home.  Is it comfortable?

3.  Use Your Measurements:

Will the sofa fit in your space according to the measurements you took of your space?

4.  Make Sure it Fits Your Style & Purpose:

Does it fall into the category of classic, modern, or trendy you were hoping to find?  Does it fit the purpose of the comfy TV viewing sofa, or is it the perfect formal sofa for your upscale living room?  Is the sofa available in fabric or leather, or both?

5.  All About Quality:

Is the quality on par to how long you plan to have the sofa?

Most manufacturers have a 1 year warranty on their cushions and frame. But you don't have to sacrifice your style or budget. If you love the a specific style, see if you can upgrade the cushion quality to down or higher density foam which will last you longer.

6.  Look into Customization:

This is the fun part, make the sofa uniquely yours.  Change the fabric or leather, the cushion style, the arm style, the base style, or configuration for a sectional sofa if possible.

7.  Know the Lead Time:

How long does the sofa take to arrive?  Does this time period work for you?

If you are waiting for an order, keep in mind that items do get back ordered or they may be issues with freights due to weather or accidents. Make sure you contact your sales rep to get regular status updates in case this may be a concern. If you need a piece within a short time frame, it may be best to look at only want is currently in stock.
